Middle School: We Learn, We Model, We Celebrate

At St. Thomas More, our middle school students are learning that virtues are more than words—they are habits we practice through our everyday choices. During monthly meetings, students explore what it means to live a virtuous life, celebrate what is going well, and discuss areas for improvement together.

These gatherings also provide an opportunity to recognize students who consistently model our Virtue of the Month. Their example helps classmates see how small, thoughtful actions can strengthen our school community.

September: Respect

September’s virtue was RESPECT. Students explored how their words and actions can honor the dignity of others—from listening attentively and speaking kindly to caring for shared spaces. As a Catholic school, we connect respect with recognizing that every person is created in God’s image.

While many of our students demonstrate respect each day, three students stood out for consistently putting this virtue into practice. Congratulations to our September Virtue of the Month recipients! We are proud of your example and the positive difference you make in our school.

October: Responsibility

In October, our focus turns to RESPONSIBILITY. Students will be encouraged to take ownership of their learning, follow through on commitments, and recognize how their choices affect others. These everyday opportunities help them become dependable classmates and thoughtful leaders.

Families can support this learning at home by talking about responsibility, giving children opportunities to fulfill tasks independently, and recognizing their efforts to make good choices.

Through learning, modeling, and celebrating virtues, our middle school students are developing habits that help them live their faith and use their God-given gifts to serve others.
