STM Hawk Talk Vol. 6 (May 2025)

A special congratulations to Vladimir and Silvia from St. Thomas More School for being recognized in the Dr. Jim Falk Serra Vocations Essay Writing Contest for their inspiring essays!

Vladimir shared his understanding of vocation, saying, “A vocation means to me a call from God… a way to receive a mission. It fills our lives with joy, happiness, and peace.” He also reflected on his experience serving at Mass, sharing, “If you serve Him, you will get closer to God and find out more about your vocation.”

Silvia shared a powerful moment when she felt God’s presence while at the park. She recalled, “One time I was at my local park in the evening, reading my Bible. A little wind blew the pages, and it turned to Isaiah 41:10: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.” Silvia felt as though God was responding to her prayers, offering peace and reassurance.

She also reflected on how God whispers His call, saying, “You may often feel called for something more, and you can hear His message through scripture, prayer, and talking with others who share your faith.”

We are so proud of both Vladimir and Silvia for sharing their beautiful faith testimonies. Your words inspire us all to grow closer to God and listen for His call.
